Oxtered to the Bothy are a Glasgow based collaboration of young musicians, each coming from different musical backgrounds. The principle focus of the band is to create a new fusion between Scottish themed music various other musical styles. These include influences of rock, funk, Balkan and in particular jazz. All the music played is self-written and arranged by members, allowing the favoured styles of everybody to merge into original creations. The band formed in November 2015 and have since been ‘Highly Commended’ for their performance on the 2016 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Stage, and are currently working on various recordings, as well as the release of their debut album in October 2016.
